When the Seattle Kraken challenged the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the Western Conference, beating the defending Stanley Cup 2 champions-1 in the 7th match at Ball Arena on Sunday, they proved something to everyone sleeping on Seattle.
After finishing 30th in the NHL in its inaugural season, the Kraken made the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time, winning the first wild wild card in the West, and winning the Stanley Cup.
They scored 15 players without scoring from Jared McCann, who led them with 40 goals in the regular season, or Andre Burakovsky, who scored 13 goals in the regular season.
Each line can mark whatever night — the defenders, the forwards, n’ whatever.
The Kraken went 2-0-1 against Avalanche in the regular season, including 2-0-0 in Denver.
