Titanic, in full Royal Mail Ship (RMS) Titanic, British extravagance traveler liner that sank on April 14–15, 1912. During its first trip, en route to New York City from Southampton, England, hence slaughtering around 1,500 travellers and ship staff. As a result, it became one of the most well known tragedies in present day history.
